I’d also like to take this opportunity to highlight my favorite series on the site: Fun with Frogs! Perfect for the beginning of the school year.
This is a printable music “book” (digital download) PERFECT for beginner piano students. My mother, Susan, used it with my son when he first started. When my mom couldn’t teach my son anymore, he switched to his new teacher (shoutout Mrs. Benton!) and she continued with the series. I think what makes this beginner series so special is that it was written with the intention of the student’s parents being able to help with practicing, regardless of their own musical background. I believe this particular series could be used with homeschool students or students without a piano teacher as well — it really breaks down the concepts!
The series is a combination of music, worksheets, and activities — perfect for young students who need lessons to stay fun and interesting in order to hold their attention.

I also think it’s cute that my mom drew all the pictures herself! I love them! She never considered herself an artist (I’m the artist in the family :D), but I think it is amazing that she taught herself photoshop and just WENT FOR IT. Why Frogs? She had a cute frog stuffed animal that she always kept in her piano studio and that’s what inspired her.
The Fun with Frogs series is a digital download that you print out at home. You can simply use a 3 hole puncher and place the pages into a binder so your students can use it as a book. Another option is to insert the pages into clear page protector within your binder. My mom even used a spiral coil binding machine to turn it into a spiral bound booklet, which isn’t necessary, but kind of fun.
