Happy Fall! 🍁 It has been an exceptionally hot summer, just miserable, with temperatures over 100 degrees, day after day. The Dragon’s Lair is not specifically Halloween music, but it gives students an opportunity to enjoy the mysterious minor sounds they love to play. This early intermediate piece is also one of my best sellers.
I Want to be a Zombie on Halloween is a new release. I wrote it for a young student who dressed up as a zombie and I wanted a song for her cheerful personality. I think it’s the only Halloween piece I’ve written in a major key! I have to admit I’m pretty naïve when it comes to zombies, so the worst thing this zombie does is wear dirty clothes. 🤗
Hey Mr. Mummy is another piece I wrote for a student. Students like the teacher duet which is really adds interest. This was originally in my collection of one page Halloween pieces. I added a B section to make it longer and more fun. There are only three notes used in each hand, so it is great for a young student who is learning to read notes on the staff.
Sneaky Sneakers is a delightful, descriptive, and mysterious sounding piece at the elementary level. There are no words, but it is about mysteriously sneaking around and then running away at the end. There are lots of staccatos, expression marks, and some moving around the keyboard that can be taught by rote. Students love this easy to learn, fun piece.
The Boy Who Didn’t Like Halloween is a best seller. It is a ballad with funny words students enjoy. Plus, two different versions are included for elementary and late elementary levels. Teachers have told me it’s a real student favorite!
I placed an order this morning and I am not able to print the music. It says I have reached my limit. Can you please help me. Maxine Miller
