Introducing Liz
Hi, let me officially introduce myself: My name is Liz, and I am Susan’s daughter. I will be running the Susan Paradis Piano Teaching Resources store and blog from now on.
My mother was my role model, my best friend, and of course, my piano teacher! I consider myself extremely lucky to have been taught piano by a teacher who understood that in order to develop a long lasting love for music, children should enjoy learning it. That was definitely my mom’s specialty – making piano fun!
About Me
I am a digital artist with my MFA in Arts and Technology. I worked in animated films, video games, and commercials before transitioning to a full time professor in the digital arts field (with a focus in 3D digital sculpting). As a professor, I really enjoyed taking complicated topics and breaking them down into easy-to-understand curriculums (something my previous students really appreciated!)
My mother started me in piano when I was 5 years old. How lucky was I to have Susan Paradis as my mother AND my piano teacher? My love of music has defined a large part of my life. In fact, my mother and I have collaborated many times on her website already!
Since my mother’s passing, I ended my career as a professor after teaching at a university for 15 years and now have time to fully dedicate myself to Susan Paradis Piano Teaching Resources. I’m so happy to be able to focus on creating new teaching materials for music educators now. Education is in my blood!
I’m a mother of two young boys, (one of which is currently working through the Fun with Frogs series), and I’m married to my wonderful, supportive husband. We have one old, super friendly dog named “Scruffy.” Check out the song my mother wrote based on her here!
Looking towards the future
Taking over my mom’s legacy in the form of this website will undoubtedly come with some exciting new challenges. As time goes on, you may start to notice little changes here and there to the website as I go behind the scenes and update some of the infrastructure.
As a customer, you will still have access to all the same beloved learning materials created by my mother. Be sure to subscribe to the blog to receive updates about new posts and products added to the store. And be sure to comment below with which items are your favorites and what kind of products you’d like to see added to the store!
I’m looking forward to this new chapter in my life and I’m excited to meet and communicate with all my mom’s loyal customers and hopefully meet some new ones, too.
Warmly,
Liz
Liz, I didn’t know about your mama’s illness, and was very saddened when you told me a few months ago. From what I just read, it looks like I was lucky enough to find her website very early on! My students just LOVE these little games, and it does help them to learn/review basic concepts. She and I corresponded and spoke a few times, and I am a huge fan! Thank you for keeping her resources online for all of the piano world.
I keep a pack of white/ivory cardstock on hand so I can print out a couple more games every now and then! I use them in private lessons and also in group classes.
I’m thinking that other music teachers (string, band, classroom) would also love these games, and could just print out extra copies to use in a larger group. Don’t know whether you advertise to them….
Best wishes and ongoing condolences,
Beverly Holt Guth
My deepest condolences to you and the family:( She was a wonderful spirit and truly will be missed. I’ve used several of her resources and her calendar is my go-to every September!
How lucky are we Liz to have you onboard? Yay! I look forward to new adventures:)
Many hugs!

Thank you so much! I’m so happy to be doing this and I feel really close to my mom as I continue her work <3
I have used Susan’s materials for many years. I would love to see more advanced worksheets, especially more triads and chords, intervals that need the quality as well. More with key signatures including minor. I generally teach 7 basic concepts of theory and am always looking for seasonal games and worksheets for those. The concepts are Rhythm, Piano Keys and Note Names, Intervals, Triads and Chords, Terms and Symbols, Patterns and Scales, Key Signatures-circle of 5ths. so happy the site is continuing!
I love Susan’s solos. I use them for spring recitals and they are always very popular. I really appreciate that they sound difficult even tho they are not hard for students to learn. I would be so excited if you write more!
I did not know your dear mother had passed away. My sincere sympathies to you and your family. I have enjoyed her materials for years and always looked forward to a new post. Now, I’ll look forward to your posts as you let the creativity continue.
Dear Liz,
I’m so sorry for your loss. My sincere condolences.
It is wonderful that you will continue with your mother’s legacy. We can clearly see her love and care producing these materials for children.
I‘m very grateful for having found your mom’s website. I have been using your material in my piano lessons and my students enjoy them very much. I teach piano in Germany.
With Love
Luciana
You asked about products I would like to see. There used to be a product by another teacher called “Bea’s Keys”. I am unable to locate them now and need to get more of the ones from low C to high C. I have found them to be very helpful in teaching students to quickly recognize a note on staff to match the key on the piano. If you could find them and carry them, I would be delighted. Oh, and I love the yearly calendars to print out the years events, vacation days and more.
Susan mentioned how much you helped her on the website. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Dorothy
