Keyboard Labels

The incredibly useful KEYBOARD LABELS are updated and back in the store! I had so many people ask me about the Keyboard Labels because they used to be available but were taken down. (Sometimes my mother, Susan, would take things down to update them from time to time.) I am happy to bring them back!

Keeping the original sticker dimensions, I redrew them with a simple, yet bolder look. Straightforward as they are, I really love them!

Included in this printable sticker set is a 4 page .PDF:

  • Black and white pentascale keyboard
  • Color pentascale keyboard
  • Black and white octave keyboard
  • Color octave keyboard

Each page has 30 keyboards and if your use the Avery Address Labels, each sticker is sized 1″ x2 5/8″. More on the Avery Address Labels below. This is a DIGITAL DOWNLOAD. Simply Purchase > Download > Print!

The Origin Story

When my mom would teach her students, sometimes she would draw a little keyboard onto the music to help her students find their starting positions. Sometimes she would label it with the finger numbers too. One day, after drawing a particularly “sloppy” keyboard (her words!), she thought to herself: This would be so much easier if I didn’t have to redraw a keyboard every single time!

She looked online to see what keyboard label stickers were available. Although there are PLENTY of piano themed stickers out there in the world, she couldn’t find one that truly suited her need. So, my mom being a very ingenuitive person, MADE THEM HERSELF!

And of course she shared them with the world!

Purpose

As I mentioned above, my mom would use them to help her students find their starting positions. Many primer books already have a graphic with a starting position, but sometimes other music books and sheet music don’t.

With the practical nature of these Keyboard Labels, the possibilities for application are endless. Have you used these before? I’d love to hear from you in the comments with the ways you have made them work for you!

(I think they are cute enough you could even just decorate with them!)

How to Print

The page you print is formatted to be compatible with Avery Address Labels. I recommend using Avery Repositionable Address Labels (Template 58160 for Inket Printer & Template 55160 for Laser Printer) because it’s very handy to be able to peel off the sticker and use it again or even just to be able to move it around on the paper. (My amazon links are affiliate links which helps me earn a few bucks. It does not affect the price for you and it helps keeps the lights on at SusanParadis.com! Thank you for your support!)

I bought the non-repositionable Avery address labels (Template 8160) and once I put that sticker down… it was NEVER coming off! That makes sense since these are originally intended to go through the mail and someone wouldn’t want their address labels falling off. Other than that, it worked beautifully.

Don’t want to buy the Avery Address Labels? No problem! You can also print these on any printable sticker paper and cut them out yourself! The Avery labels simply save a bit of time and effort.

I don’t recommend trying to find an address label sheet that isn’t the Avery template I recommend, because the placement of these stickers in the file are very specific and I can’t guarantee they’d line up on a different brand.

See them in action!
