The Notorious NoteBoys Teach Major Scales

The NoteBoys comics teach music theory the fun way.If you’re not familiar with my NoteBoys, they are the goofy characters I use to add a little humor to music theory. My students have learned the personalities of each NoteBoy and look forward to new installments of the series. They actually laugh at loud! I usually make one good copy, laminate it, and keep it on the sofa table so that students can look at it while they wait for their lesson. I also pull them out when I see that students need a more visual explanation of some theory concepts. Concepts include ledger lines, tonic and dominant, clef signs, Roman numerals, and many more. Each poster has one concept.

There are two bundles with eight posters in each bundle.

Last week I was at the Texas Music Teachers convention. I enjoyed meeting a lot of teachers who like my website and I am very honored by your appreciation of what I do. I brought home a lot of new music and a few books in particular that I want to review. The major publishers were there, but unfortunately some of their sessions were at the same time so I’m sure there was a lot I missed.

    1. No, I don’t have a NoteBoys for minor scales, but it is a good idea. The Noteboys comics take me an incredible amount of time to make, but I have a few I’m working on. My students really love them.

  1. The Noteboys are terrific! They will be a great visual for my teens and adults, as well as the younger kids. I love way you’ve used a simple, yet humorous picture to make these challenging concepts more fun. Thank you so much for sharing your talents!
