Wings on Ice is an early intermediate level piece in C Major. It is a gentle, easy to learn piece that evokes the feeling of ice skating though air. The flowing melody contains scale passages in the right hand and gives the thumb practice in evenly shifting the scale fingering. There are also some changes in octaves as well as practice in two note slurs. With dynamics, expression, and fingering carefully marked, it can be used in recitals and festivals.

Deborah Black –
This piece is just stunning. Right now it’s March, 2020 and the world is dealing with COVID 19 – we are all self-isolating and anxiety is a real issue. I find this beautiful piece so soothing and relaxing that I take it out and play it at least two or three times a week. Thank you Susan, for this beautiful composition.

This one will be a hit with my pre-teen and teen girls especially. I love the “music box” feel to it. Nice and light, simple and elegant. Wings on Ice describes it perfectly! Thanks Susan for a wonderful piece to motivate!
