🎃🎶Eight Early Elementary Halloween Songs!
Have you ever wanted to give your beginning students a Halloween piece, but you couldn’t find one that was easy enough for a beginning reader? Eight Halloween One Page Songs includes eight early elementary songs on the grand staff just in time for your beginning readers. There are no eighth notes. Most of the pieces are in A or D minor for that mysterious sound students love. Two are in middle C position and the other pieces have the melody divided between the hands in “near C” position. Most of the notes move in steps with a few “skipping” notes to add melodic interest. They all include finger numbers and dynamic expressions for a musical performance. All of the songs have lyrics and fun illustrations that celebrate the child-like joy of Halloween and are appropriate for young children. These pieces are short enough to do one or two each week. In my studio, I have found these short Halloween pieces to be a great opportunity to improve sight reading. Plus you can print out as many copies as you need for all your students!
Four of these pieces are new compositions and the rest are my Halloween compositions that have been teacher favorites for years. I polished them up by adding expression marks and new art. Please note that many of these pieces are also available in longer as well as in pre-reading versions. Students love them even more if, like folk songs, they become familiar over time.
My young student said: “I practiced so much even though I’m so good at it!”
