Rhythm Reaction

Description

🎶  🎸  Rhythm Reaction is a rhythm reading board game for older students to help them improve rhythmic skills. As students progress to the intermediate level, we might focus on other skills so heavily that we may not realize students are learning by rote. Rhythm Reaction requires students to tap rhythm patterns in the game, which is a lot more fun than reading patterns in a book. In this game no student is penalized for tapping the rhythm incorrectly. In fact, every player has an equal chance to win. In addition, students can choose the tempo and even get help from the teacher. It is good with groups or student/teacher. The fanciful instruction cards are about being in a touring band and make the game more fun and maybe spark their imagination. Instructions are included in your purchase. Please note this is a digital download and does not include a physical item.

Objective

The objective of Rhythm Reaction is to reinforce rhythmic reading skills using one measure patterns.

Level

This game is for experienced students at the intermediate level. The rhythm patterns include 8th and 16th notes, triplets, and dotted eighth notes. Time signatures include 3|4, 4|4, 5|4, and 6|8.

There are a total of 8 pages including:
• 5 pages of playing cards
• 1 game board
• 1 page of game instructions
• Back for the cards (optional—in separate file)

Rhythm Reaction contains 8 PRINTABLE PDF pages including an instruction page. These are digital files to print on 8.5″ x 11″ paper. The PDF for the back of the cards is in a separate file. When you order, your links will be placed in your account for you to download. Once you have saved your file, you may print it yourself or use a print shop of your choice. To find your account later, select “Account” from the top menu. Please double-check the email you use.

These files are for your private use. You have permission to make copies for the students you teach yourself in your private studio. Parents may print copies for their children. Do not share with anyone outside of your studio. If you are not a teacher, you have permission to use it with your family. Each teacher and/or parent needs to make a separate purchase and not share with teachers in a school or business. The original art is copyrighted and may not be altered or used.
