Saturday Solos Book

Fun supplementary book!

SKU: PM103 Category:

This is a studio license, so a single teacher can make unlimited copies for years of playing.

Saturday Solos contains 6 traditional children’s songs and 12 new solos for elementary level children with fun lyrics and delightful hand drawn illustrations. The melodies are written in a variety of hand positions on or near C to encourage children not to associate a finger with a certain piano key. There are a minimum of finger numbers and expression marks so children can concentrate on reading steps and skips. This book is useful as a bridge between primer and level one books, evaluation of a transfer student, and students who need more work with steps and skips.

Saturday Solos is an 21-page PRINTABLE PDF file measuring 8.5 x 11 inches.  The file includes the color cover, a table of contents, and nineteen one-page songs for elementary level piano. This is a wonderful book with a good mix of familiar and original songs. Good practice with steps and skips. The music is fun to play too.

  2. Lisa Williams

This book is a standard part of my studio repertoire for students who are just beginning but are 7 yrs old or older. There is a perfect mix of original and traditional pieces as well as practice for skips and steps.

  3. Jennifer

Saturday Solos would make a perfect supplementary book for the beginning student. The solos are delightful, playful and simply refreshing. Because the pieces are pattern based with lots of stepping and skipping, it is a wonderful book for those students that need practice moving in different positions. In addition all the pieces lend itself well for students to learn and practice transposing.
