In Memoriam of Susan Paradis

Hi, I’m Liz, Susan’s youngest daughter, and I am updating this blog with some sad news.

My mother, Susan Paradis, creator of Susan Paradis Piano Resources, passed away this month peacefully in her home after a courageous five year battle with cancer. Our family is in grief while we deal with the loss of our loving mother/wife/Oma. We will miss her warmth, sense of humor, cleverness, and her unwavering support of our dreams. As a mother, she was more than anyone could hope for and I was undoubtedly blessed to have her in my life.

As she bravely fought her illness through many rounds of chemotherapy and clinical trials, she found solace in writing her blog and creating new products for her online store.

As Susan’s daughter, I am well aware of my mother’s fan base and I want to personally thank everyone for the loyal support shared over the past 18 years. I am proud to announce that this website will go on, continuing my mother’s legacy under my care at her request. This is a new chapter for my life as I step into my mother’s shoes, creating even more new products that I can’t wait to share with you. More on this subject in the next blog post!

Again, I want to thank all of you who have supported this website throughout the years. My mother took so much pride in Susan Paradis Piano Resources and my goal is to maintain the quality of her work.

To learn more about Susan, please read her obituary lovingly written by her family here and consider donating to the Susan Paradis Music Camp Scholarship in her honor here.

“The strife is o’re, the battle done, The victory of life is won; The song of triumph has begun. Allelluia!”

  11. I am so sad for your loss. She will be greatly missed, even by newcomers to her website like myself. May God comfort you all as you adjust to this reality. I especially appreciate her Can- Can trio. It sounds impressive but is simple enough for younger students to play and they love it. Her popcorn snowmen were so cute and I could continue with accolades for her amazing resources. I am thankful to know you will be carrying it on.

I am sorry about your loss. I have been using and following Susan since her beginnings and have enjoyed the vast amount of materials she shared in my studio. I use the seasonal games, Sunny Solos, Beginning Bundle with new beginners and all the fun seasonal songs she created. Even though I didn’t personally know her I felt like a kindred piano teacher because everything she created resonated with my way of teaching. I’m forever indebted to her many creative teaching resources.

I’m deeply saddened to hear of your Mother’s passing. As an MTNA member, I have available to me a huge number of resources to run and support my studio. Your Mother’s educational materials are the single most important resource in my toolbox. I use her ACE worksheets daily. I would not be the teacher I am today without her and her experience. I am delighted you are continuing her blog and legacy. My deepest condolences.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words. It’s very comforting to me! I’m honored to keep this website going.

I see her name on the materials I use at every lesson. I especially love her materials for beginners, her commitment to using 3 ring binders (life changing for the better) and her annual calendars placed on the binder covers. Please consider continuing these!! I pray all of our comments are encouraging to you!

        1. Definitely! I plan to continue all of it and I also welcome all the feedback! <3 <3
