Learning to read music with guide notes!
Description
ACE Guide Notes Set One Using A, C, and E as guide notes is one approach to teaching students how to read music. This set of 13 thoughtfully designed worksheets are made to teach the location of A C E note names on the grand staff. It is made for elementary age students.
While C, F, and G are common as guide notes, many esteemed pedagogy teachers such as my colleague Elizabeth Gutierrez have found that ACE guide notes are are easier for some children because they only have to remember the letters A C E when they first start to learn note names. Many students find it easy to remember the letters A C E. The younger the student, the harder it is to remember traditional mnemonics such as Every Good Boy Does Fine.
Once they have mastered A C E, they can learn how to name the notes above and below A C E. It also makes learning ledger lines much easier when they are ready.
