Morning Walkabout

Description

🌞🍃🐕 Morning Walkabout is a bouncy and cheerful 2-page piece that your elementary students will enjoy. One day I was at the park watching all the happy dogs taking their daily walk and enjoying the sunshine when I got this melody in my head.

Morning Walkabout contains both legato and staccato articulations which are found throughout the piece. It is in the key of C major in 3|4 time. There are varying dynamic changes and easy-to-teach crossovers that are fun to play. It is also a great first solo with 8th notes because there is only one rhythm pattern with 8th notes and this pattern is repeated throughout the music. 

This is a great piece for festivals and recitals because the articulations and dynamics encourage artistic playing. The fingering and expressions are carefully marked. If you have a student who loves animals, try out this piece! Click to listen.
