Cover the Keys Throwback Thursday

Cover the Keys is a bingo type game that you can play with one or more students. For today’s Throwback Thursday I’m featuring a game for students who are just starting piano and are learning the keys on the piano. There are enough cards for 6 children, but I usually use this with my student and I as the player.

This game comes with cards to use as bingo chips, but you can also use both. If you play a lot of bingo games, I suggest investing in a set of plastic bingo chips, which are not very expensive.

You can also save milk jug lids to use as tokens with this game. If you email parents and ask them to send you lids, you will soon have all you need and there are so many things you can do with them.

Many years ago I found some pretty little flat stones that I used with some of my games. But if you want to print this out and use it today and you don’t have any tokens, get creative! I remember cutting up little pieces of cardstock to use as tokens once when I was in that situation, so you have a lot of options!
